"Pharmacy students coming together in a team building retreat

 to make dream works"

Student representatives from the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPP), Sekretariat Mahasiswa Fakulti (SMF) and Society of Pharmacy Students (SOPHYS) spent three days at El-Azzhar Camp, Morib, Banting, Selangor for a team building retreat.

The programme which was held from March 1st until 3rd, 2019 was the biggest gathering of members and leaders from the three societies that represent students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM with 100 participated in the event.

The 3-day programme was aimed to strengthen leadership skills among the committee members, and to provide training on organisational management and documentations. The programme was also aimed to break the ice among members of the three societies and to close the gap and disparities among them. In one of the activities, the participants were also exposed on how to obtain fund for their programmes. In this activity, the students produced mock funding proposals and presented them to their peers. The Vice President of SOPHYS, Siti Aishah provided constructive feedback and additional advices to ensure future funding applications are successful.

Apart from formal organisational management trainings,various fun activities were held such nightwalking, flying fox, high rope activities and kayaking. The organizing committee also organized a fun cultural night where students showed their talents by perfoming various interesting acts such as singing and stage play. The program director, Kasyful Azhim said that is imperative to hold this team building event to ensure that the committee members from the three student societies can work collaboratively and effectively towards the vision and mission of the faculty. He also stated that he strongly believes that this team building event is essential to build character and confidence among the members.
