Kembara Cahaya Ramadhan (KCR) 2019
Student representatives from the Majlis Perwakilan Pelajar (MPP), Sekretariat Mahasiswa Fakulti (SMF), Society of Pharmacy Students (SOPHYS), JATI UITM and volunteers from pharmacy’s student spent one day at Apartment Astana Alam Fasa 3, Puncak Alam, Selangor for a community retreat. The programme which was held on May 19th 2019 was the second time held by the SMF that represent of the Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM, with 42 participated in the event.
The 1-day programme
was aimed to give awareness and knowledge to the resident of the apartment
about importance in taking care of health and the right way to use medication.
Other purpose of this programme is to enhance the involvement of students in the
community tasks. In one of the activities, the participants did Home Medication
Review at few houses accompanied with registered pharmacist to make sure the
residents know-how about the medicine they are taken.
Apart from Home
Medication Review, various pleasant activities were held such spring cleaning
of community library, free market and sharing of bubur lambuk. The
organizing committee also organized a fun colouring competition for the kids
where they showed their talents in art. Those that present the best result get
their award prize as a winner and the remaining got small gifts as token of
appreciation for their effort in the competition. 
The representative of residents said that
this event is meaningful for the residents as the free market may help those in
need. Apart from that he also stated this collaboration increased the awareness
of the residents about healthcare. He would like to have more collaboration with us in future and same as us too.
